Ley Kenyon was an artist in England prior to WWII. He was a "painter, illustrator, designer, teacher, and diver". He was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross as a result of 45 bomber missions during the war. He was captured and imprisoned in Stalag Luft III prison camp where his artistic training was put to use forging the identity passes and papers for the famous "Great Escape". After the war he became an avid diver and helped Jacques Cousteau with underwater filming, and published several works on the underwater world.
