Harriett Mulford Stone Lothrop (1844–1924), second wife of the Boston publisher Daniel Lothrop (1831–1892). For some time after his death she led the publishing company D. Lothrop or Lothrop Publishing Co. (as it or they are known here 2016-10-19), which she sold some time before the 1905 merger that created Lothrop, Lee & Shepard.
Mrs. Lothrop is best known as a children's writer, by the pseudonym Margaret Sidney under which she wrote Five Little Peppers and How They Grew and 11 sequels.
