The source (Credits, title notes and introduction to "The Best of Arthur C. Clarke, 1937-1955", repeated in "The Best of Arthur C. Clarke, 1956-1972") is unclear whether this is "Amateur Science Stories" or "Amateur Science Fiction Stories". Wikipedia goes for the former, possibly based on Miller/Contento, who list US prices for a British Magazine? Be suspicious. BLongley 19:32, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Correct title is indeed "Amateur Science Stories", I own copies. It was published by Douglas W. F. Mayer. No explanation for Miller/Contento's apparent listing of a US price. AJWM 00:00, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
My copy of "The Best of Arthur C. Clarke, 1937-1955" (Sphere Books, 1973 reprinted 1975), on the Acknowledgements page, lists it as "Amateur Science Stories" in three places. In Clarke's introduction (on page 13), he refers (just once) to "Amateur Science Fiction Stories", hence the confusion. The latter is an error, either on Clarke's part or perhaps an overenthusiastic copy editor's. AJWM 18:35, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
