From Tuck's Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and Fantasy:
This magazine was begun by Palmer as a companion to Amazing Stories and was large size to emulate the early Amazing this did not last long. It published much light "frothy" fantasy in its early years, but by the late 1940's was printing much the same material as its companion, only more fantastic in vein. At one stage in the very early 1940's it nearly ceased. Some novels around 1950-1951 were of importance, but the story standard dropped considerably in its last year. Its position as companion to Amazing was taken by Fantastic.
