Magazine Timeline

The pages below layout magazines since 1900 in a table format, showing their lifespan relative to other magazines of their era. Each row shows a specific magazine; multiple entries in a row indicate a name change.

Online Magazines

The ISFDB does not normally index online magazines as the index information cannot be guaranteed to be stable. However, the following list of current online ezines may be of interest.

Creating a new magazine wiki page

  1. Find the proper alphabetical section of the list above.
  2. Click the edit link to the right of the section title to edit the section.
  3. Add a new line including a link to the magazine page, using the same format as the existing link. It should look something like this:
    * [[Magazine:Magazine Name|Magazine Name]] (Start Year - End Year)
  4. Enter an Edit Summary at the bottom, something like "add Magazine Name"
  5. Click "Save page"
  6. When the edited page displays, find the newly entered link. It will be red indicating that the page does not yet exist.
  7. Click on the new red link. You will be taken to a page with the title "Editing Magazine:Magazine Name'".
  8. In the edit box type:
    {{subst:Magazine}}
  9. Save the page. This will place a copy of Template:Magazine onto your new page. This is a standard skeleton for magazine wiki pages.
  10. Edit the page. Fill in the blank areas in the skeleton, as possible. Add any relevant notes or information. Save the page.
    Note that the issues table, if you are filling it in, should have the most recent year at the top.
  11. You have created a basic wiki page for the newly entered magazine.
