Pagination

This is a reprint publication where it appears the pages the main body of the publication were not re-numbered when the Contents page and a 19 page Introduction were added.

Supporting the theory that the pages were not renumbered when Beacon Press created this edition is that the Doubleday first edition has 264 pages which is also the ending page count for the Beacon Press editions. Publication notes have been added to the publication records for the Doubleday edition and the Beacon Press first printing. Hopefully, future verifiers will be able to confirm if this theory is true.

Also supporting the theory is that Introduction's copyright is "Copyright © 1988 by Beacon Press".
