British publisher best known for the Harry Potter books. Founded 1986. In 1994 it launched paperback and children's lists. After a 1996 rights issue to fund expansion and acquisitions, it set up Bloomsbury USA in 1998. In July 2000 Bloomsbury acquired A&C Black PLC.
