In the mid-1970s, Books on Tape, Inc. coined the term BOOKS ON TAPE® as its proprietary trade name, trademark and service mark. "B-O-T" is another common abbreviation. Originally publishing on audio cassette, it eventually turned to CDs as well but it seems "tape" is still a valid format. They have about 70 SF titles currently in print.

Usual ISBN prefix 07366.

I'll leave this as an example of why I want starting dates for Publishers. I know 1937 is late enough to be sure it's not a Wax-Cylinder recording, but LP records (even if 78 RPM) might not be out of the question. But TAPE seems a bit wrong? BLongley 20:02, 1 Mar 2008 (CST)
