Welcome!

Hello, Fransje, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 18:59, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

On the Steel Breeze

Hello, I've approved your submission for this pub. As you're the primary verifier, you can delete the "Data from Amazon and Locus Magazine #654 as of 2015-07-08." or (if it's the case) precise what part of the data is from the copy itself (e.g. the price or the pagination) and what part still comes from secondary sources (e.g. the precise pub date). Thanks for contributing. Hauck 19:02, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

Are you sure that such a precise pub date is given in the book itself? Hauck 20:04, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

The Long Utopia

Can you confirm that the main price given in this publication is in Canadian dollars? It appears that this is the international edition and would probably either have multiple prices or no price at all. Thanks for checking. Mhhutchins|talk 18:38, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Really only one price stated on back cover (CAN $12.99), to my surprise. Nothing is mentioned about export or overseas or international edition, except "Corgi edition" of Transworld Publishers. Fransje 20:11, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Only Superhuman

Hello, I've approved your submission but transferred the canadian price in the "note" field (we keep only one price in the "price " field). Hauck 15:27, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

ah, OK. Fransje 18:53, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Nexus

Hello, I've changed the date for your submitted third printing to "0000-00-00". The "This edition published 2015 on copyright page" bit refers usually to the the first printing this one. Do you have aditional data that can confirm the 2015 date? Hauck 15:31, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Same set of remarks for this pub (I've kept your 2016 date, but I'm reserved about it). Hauck 15:34, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Both are indeed of 2015 or 2016, and no clear indication of which year is correct... Fransje 18:53, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Publication date for The Marianne Trilogy

Hi. I accepted your changes to The Marianne Trilogy, but I restored the '07' for the month and added a note citing Locus1 as the source of that month. We like to have the month of publication if we know it. This entry was not set up properly in the first place. We used to be more lax about entries added with information entirely from secondary sources. This one likely should have had a note that read "Data from Locus1". That would have been a good clue for you. When we edit such an entry based on the actual book, we adjust the note to reflect only those pieces of information not present in the book (e.g., the hypothetical note would then have been changed to say "Publication month from Locus1"). We do something similar when we discover more information about a book from secondary sources after we've added a record for it. I hope that makes sense. Thanks. --MartyD 01:08, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, each time there is a different problem (and each tim I keep forgetting that a separate log-in is required here. but I'll try! Fransje 16:10, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Change/additions to Fool's Assassin

Hello, I have made a change and some additions to your verified Fool's Assassin. I changed the number of pages to 689 to include the excerpt from Fool's Assassin after the novel. I added a lot to the Notes, including more information from copyright page & back of book. Also Notes about the Canada price and the excerpt at the end. And I have imported the maps as content from the verified hardcover edition. BungalowBarbara 22:00, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

The Marianne Trilogy

Replaced the Amazon cover art for The Marianne Trilogy with a scan of my copy. Also included the Printing History and source of the Cover Artist. --AndyjMo 15:19, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Shipstar

I added the cover photographer NASA to this pub as credited on earlier printing. --Zapp 08:05, 25 August 2018 (EDT)
