Welcome!

Hello, GuyAnthonyDeMarco, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 01:32, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Necrotic Tissue #7

Was the cover of this issue a collaboration between the three artists that you listed in the record? Mhhutchins 01:36, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

The three artists were as listed in the credits. I believe one did the front cover and the others dis some of the internal artwork. GuyAnthonyDeMarco 13:25, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
If you get more definitive information, you can update the record to show credit for the cover art. Interior art is not credited in that field, but in the contents section of the record. Mhhutchins 19:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
I checked my copy and it says "Remo" on the cover, so I'll update the posting. Thanks for the helpful hints, I'll do my best to learn the ropes. GuyAnthonyDeMarco 03:47, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Serpentarius

I accepted the submission, but made the following changes based on current ISFDB standards.

  • Title field was changed to "Serpentarius, January-March 2008" (We add dates in the title field of magazines to disambiguate one issue from another.)
  • Changed the editor credit of Nancy E. Dix and Marco Gallo to just "N. E. Dix" based on the actual credit as given in the magazine.
  • The date field was changed from 2008 to "2008-01-00" to conform to the date as given in the magazine. When multiple months are given, the first is used.
  • The binding field was changed from "pdf" to "ebook", the ISFDB standard for all electronic publications. Formats are stated in the note field, as some works are electronically published in different formats.
  • The ISSN was removed from the ISBN field and recorded in the note field. The ISBN/Catalog # field should only be used for either the ISBN or catalog number.
  • Price field was changed from "free" to "$0.00"
  • The dates of the contents were changed from "2008-03-01" to "2008-01-00". Even if the publication didn't appear until March, we used the stated date of publication as the date of its contents. You can record the date of the issue's appearance in the Note field.
  • The poems on page 6 were added to the contents.
  • Author credit of "Editor's Blues" was changed to "N. E. Dix" to match the actual byline in the piece's publication.

Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 16:41, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Necrotic Tissue #8

I have your submission to update this record on a temporary hold. You want to change the price from $6.95 to $5.95, but the Amazon listing gives the former price. Is there a printed price on the pub? Also, you've added Lauri Gardner as co-author of "Sabine Baring-Gould and the Werewolf". I could find no other source that gives her as co-author, even when the story was reprinted in this anthology and read on the podcast Pseudopod #169. I'll accept the submission and ask that you verify that these two matters are correct. Thanks. Mhhutchins 23:09, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

I have a complete collection of the magazine run (I had three stories appear in it). The cover and the interior of the magazine have both names, and the price on the cover is $5.95. I know R. Scott McCoy, so if you would like, I can follow up with him as to why Ms. Gardner's name is no longer on the story, but it is definately on it for the initial edition of the magazine. If you would like, I can snap an image of the cover and email it to you for reference. GuyAnthonyDeMarco 23:23, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
That's not necessary. The record remains as submitted. Please do a primary verification of the record so that if any questions should arise, we'll know that it's a record of a physical copy of the issue. Thanks again. Mhhutchins 23:50, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Well, I went and checked, and Scott said: "The first is correct. Thanks Guy, I appreciate that. Have you read The White Faced Bear that I put out through Belfire Press? It's in ebook and paper." I'll verify the issue, check the rest and verify them, and then post his novel. Thanks for your help! GuyAnthonyDeMarco 01:26, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
By the by, if you look at the front cover scan, it does show both authors (it's the third story listing on the cover, although the font makes it tough to read). Have a great evening, GuyAnthonyDeMarco 01:29, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Absolute Truths & Outright Lies

I've accepted the submission to add this record to the database, but have had to change several fields. Please follow the standards that I'm going to outline here, and read this help page for any future additions to the database.

  • Pub format field was changed from "eb" to "ebook"
  • "B006NV4GEQ" was removed from the ISBN/Catalog # field. It appears to be Amazon's ASIN, which is neither an ISBN nor a catalog number. I've moved it to the note field.
  • Currency sign was added to the price field. I'm assuming this is US dollars so I added "$" before "3.25".
  • I removed the link to the cover image on the publisher's website. We do not have permission to "deep-link" to this website. (See here about image linking.) I've replaced the link with that to the Amazon image (we have permission to deep-link to Amazon.)
  • The publication date was changed from "2011-00-00" to "2011-12-18" based on the date given in the Amazon listing.

If any of the changes I made are incorrect, please let me know here on your user talk page. Thanks. Mhhutchins 02:30, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

The Best of Every Day Fiction Two

I've accepted the submission to add this record with the assumption that the contents that you've included in the record are spec-fic. There was also a couple of changes made: I changed the date of the publication froom 2009 to 2010-01-06, based on the Amazon listing, and added the US dollar sign before the price. If you have a copy of the book, please do a primary verification. Otherwise, record in the note field the source for your data. (BTW, I also linked the cover image from Amazon.com.) Thanks. Mhhutchins 17:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Daily Bites of Flesh 2011

The submission adding this record was accepted, but some changes were made: the date was changed to 2010-11-23 (based on the Amazon listing), the binding was changed from "sc" to "tp" (the ISFDB standard for softcover trade-sized books: a trade paperback), a US dollar sign was placed before the price, the cover image from Amazon was linked, and I recorded in the note field that the contents are incomplete. If you have the book please do a primary verification (and consider entering the remaining contents). If not, record your source in the note field. Thanks. Mhhutchins 18:07, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

I have clarified the Note field in your verified Help. Ahasuerus 18:46, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

T. C. Powel vs T. C. Powell

Hi, In your verified copy of Necrotic Tissue, #14 April 2011 you credit The Methuselah Project to T. C. Powel. Based upon The Fiction of T. C. Powell I changed that into T. C. Powell, but could you please check whether the typo was made by the magazine instead of by you yourself?--Dirk P Broer 10:32, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
