Cover art for The Map of the Sky

Although similar, it seems that there is sufficient difference between this book's cover art and the work on the artist's website which you wish to link to the record. Spectrum 19

Susan, I've started to enter details of the artwork for the various Spectrums, beginning with 20 and now working on 19. I see you have entered some of the interiorart, but skipped sections. I haven't investigated what you skipped, so I don't know what you chose to enter. But I see no reason not to enter all of the illustrations. I've duplicated some of your work, but would like to minimize any further duplication of effort. A major difference in our entries is that I have used quotation marks around the titles given in the pub, and not used quotes when the subject is obvious, but no title is given. You do not use quotes, which is the common entry method. I'm willing to remove the quotes; it's a fair amount of work, but not prohibitive at this point. I wish you had copied your entries into the other editions for 19, but what's done is done. Where should we go now? (1)We could merge our entries, keeping the titles without quotes (or those with). (2)I could delete my entries that duplicate yours, then import your entries into the hardcover. In this case, I would add the other illustrations, but then it would be difficult to import those entries into your pub. (3)Or you could enter the illustrations you have not yet entered for the paperback, and then import the entire contents into the hardcover. What are your thoughts on this? well, I'm not finished with my copy of 19, but the other editions were verified by other users and the mods said to leave that for them. I only use quotation marks when that's in the covers... can you tell me some you did with quotes? Also, I only include the "books" and cover-art that was used later that appeared in the other sections, usually the unpublished sections... Susan O'Fearna 18:19, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Today I merged all of the "Books" illustrations for 19 between your entries and mine. This led to a few changes in your entries where you had typos (but more to mine). I've also eliminated the quotation marks in both 19 and 20; I had reason for using them, but decided those reasons were not good enough to justify them. I copied your entries for 18 into the hardcover, and am adding the rest of the illustrations in the hardcover. The content for the tp #20 I imported from my hardcover entries, minus the few "extra" illustrations (like endpapers and front and back boards). I looked at your entries in 19 beyond "Books", but haven't merged them with mine; in no cases have I varianted the unpublished illustrations with book covers. So the next thing I will do is finish entering items into 18 that you have not yet entered, beginning on p. 112. Then I will check all of the entries in 18 for typos and for possible variants. Angels and Visitations

I accepted the submission to change this record into one for the second printing, but before doing so I cloned it so that we could have a record for the first printing. Please keep that in mind when updating future records. All records are assumed to be first printing unless stated. You should clone that record to create one for the second printing, instead of changing that record into one for a second printing. If you do that there is no longer a record in the database for the first printing.

I also reverted the publisher credit back to DreamHaven Books, which is the database designation for this publisher. If it is true that most of this publisher's books drop the "Books" or dropped it at a point in their existence, we can create a new publisher name. Do you know if that is the case for this publisher? Hello, Susan! I have put your submission on hold to change the date for the above title to 1984, because it is still stated 'First published in Knave(UK) v16 #7, 1989'. Series numbers

Since you handle a lot of urban fantasy/paranormal romance, I thought I'd let you know that you can now enter non-integer series numbers like "0.5" (for prequels) and "3.5" for stories that fall between books 3 and 4 in the series. Updating title records with original publication data

Creating pseudonyms

After you've made one author into a pseudonym of another, the only way to move those titles over to the canonical author's page is to use the variant function to create new parent title records crediting the canonical author. I've done that for you in the case of Robin Aurelian. Now you see that her page is blank and all of the title now appear on the summary page for Nina Kiriki Hoffman. So anytime you create a pseudonym, remember to variant the title records. Thanks.

About the stub records for Hoffman stories, I have deleted those records that were not SF publications or were web-only publications. The content titles remain in the database, updated to indicate the original publication of the title, but without an accompanying publication record. (All fiction titles don't have to have publication records to be in the database if you follow the example I explained on the help page.) I also found two more Hoffman stories that were not in the database: Between Me and the Hope in My Heart and On Reflection, from data in the Miller/Contento Index. Thanks. Do you have any further information about Amaranth and its publication of the story "Homecomings"? If not, would Nina? There was a British small press fiction magazine with this title which published a single issue back in 1990. Could it be possible that the story was sold to Rob Jeffrey (the publisher and editor of the magazine), but that it was never published? Mhhutchins 01:56, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Cover art was a little like a smeared version of the pressed fairies Froud did ([img src=]). The Full title was Amaranth: Tales of the Supernatural (no other info at all on the cover). This story appeared on page 37, was accompanied by an illustration on page 41 by KUCHARSKI... I have no other info and she has none, so...Susan O'Fearna 23:24, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
