Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.
Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.
I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Annie 14:17, 29 July 2019 (EDT)
Inversion: Not Your Ordinary Stories
Hello Paul and welcome to ISFDB.
Thanks for adding this book. It needed a few updates to be brought to the expected data quality and consistency in the DB:
- We are an international DB, so all prices should have a currency symbol or name. More details here
- We normalize titles in English. Which means that the following words: "and", "or", "the", "a", "an", "for", "of", "in", "on", "by", "at", "from", "with", and "to" are capitalized only when they are the first word of a title or subtitle or they are meant to be in capital letters. The details are here, look for the section about Case.
- You had marked a few of the stories as being published in 2016. Can you specify where they were first published so we can update the records? ISFDB records dates as per first publication and not per copyright.
The result is here. Thanks and welcome again! Annie 14:23, 29 July 2019 (EDT)
I have a question
I do not understand how to comply with this request: You had marked a few of the stories as being published in 2016. Can you specify where they were first published so we can update the records? ISFDB records dates as per first publication and not per copyright.
I am having quite a bit of difficulty navigating this website and simply can not figure out where to update the requested records.
- if you respond here for one or more of the stories, I can update the record and explain the steps. If you want to try on your own, click on the story name, then the Edit button. We have a Notes field. Ideally, we would like to add the first publication as well if eligible. Annie 10:01, 8 August 2019 (EDT)
I have tried to enter the required information into the Notes Field for each title that was previously published. I did hit the submit data button, but when I go back and click on edit for the title, my entry seems to have disappeared.I think I may have made a mistake by not logging in. I don't want to clog up things. I will try again after logging in.
I tried, but I do not see my entries in the notes section. Here is all the information just in case it I was unsuccessful:
“Under the Wolf Moon” appeared in Nocturnal Natures A Zimbell House Publishing Anthology published by Zimbell House Publishing, 9/2016.
“Instantaneous” appeared on line in Busting and Droning Magazine, 4/22/2014.
“Do You Remember How to Fly?” subsequently appeared in Mad Scientist Journal Summer 2019.
“The Protector” appeared on line in StrippedLit500 Fiction Magazine, Issue 3 – 3/2017.
“Natural Causes” appeared on line in Chronoscope Magazine, 12/29/2016.
"A New Leaf" was accepted for publication by Storyteller, 9/2017, but the publication went defunct before publication.
"The Kill" appeared on line in Flash Fiction Magazine, 6/27/2017.
“Shatter Man” appeared on line in This Dark Matter Black Friday Fiction, 7/10/2015.
- Patience ;) if you check your Pending Edits (in the left menu on the main site), you will see your edits. A moderator needs to approve them before they are added to the DB - while the talk pages are a wiki page, the main DB is not. I approved a few, will get the rest in a bit. Thanks for providing the information. Annie 11:18, 9 August 2019 (EDT)
