Welcome!

Hello, Soratanancy, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hauck 06:31, 27 July 2017 (EDT)

Adagio pour une ombre

Hello, I've put your submission on hold. I suppose that you want to enter one of these books. In order to do this, you've not chosen the best method (what you did would have created a title a without publication attached that will likely be deleted in a matter of hours). Experience taught us that the simplest way is to first enter the book in french (via "Add New Novel" on the left of the screen and following the Help) then to variant the resulting title to the english original. Try this first step, then (eventually) ask for help for the second stage. Thanks for contributing. Hauck 06:39, 27 July 2017 (EDT)
I see that you're trying to enter the book in french, I've approved your submission but had to make some changes to conform to our standards:

  • Deleted Series & SeriesNum information, they will be inherited from the parent record after varianting.
  • changed ISBN-10 to ISBN-10 (ISBN-13 was made mandatory in January 2007 so can't be present on a 1996 book).
  • changed puseries to "Terreur".
  • transferred data about translator at title level using our template.

The result is here. Do you need assistance in the varianting process? Hauck 08:49, 27 July 2017 (EDT)

I've done the varianting. Hauck 06:18, 28 July 2017 (EDT)

Thanks a lot Hauck, I'm not very used to this. I have probably another books to insert and will do it when reading it. Soratanancy 04:24, 30 July 2017 (EDT)

MZB submissions

Hello, I've put your submissions on hold as I want to verify two things: 1) you gave the format as hc, to the best of my knowledge (and as per data that we already have here), none of the RVA titles are HCs (=livres reliés à couverture rigide comme les CLA par exemple), can you confirm that your intended additions are indeed HCs? (they may be library rebindings) 2) you didn't give a price but its presence seems standard on RVA titles, can you check? Note also that some of the titles in the series are sometimes jointly authored by Bradley and Edghill (even on some french sites like here), so can you also check the title pages to confirm attributions as entered? Thanks. Hauck 03:03, 15 January 2018 (EST)

Hello Hauck, 1) my apologies, the format is pb. 2) fantome de lumière, sorciere de lumiere, tombe de lumiere : 21,19 €, coeur de lumiere : 18 €. There is no jointly author in this french edition. Maybe they didn't put the names in the book... Thanks for your help. Soratanancy 14:55, 15 January 2018 (EST)
I've approved your submissions, corrected format to "tp" as the books are probably bigger than pb (=livre de poche), added prices, corrected Sorcière de luière to Sorcière de lumière. You can now eventually add the artist (looks a lot like Siudmak) and, most importantly, variant the french titles to the originals. Do you need assistance for this phase? Thanks for contributing. Hauck 01:56, 16 January 2018 (EST)
Hello Hauck, I found two ways : make the french title a variant of the english one (I think it should be this one) or add a variant to the french books (not my favourite one). I prefer to ask before doing anything wrong this time ... Thanks for your help. Soratanancy 12:17, 17 January 2018 (EST)
You did find the correct way in such case. You'll have to variant the french title (this one for example) to the correct english one (which is probably that one). To achieve this, go at the french title level and use the "Make This Title a Variant Title or Pseudonymous Work" link on the left. Then choose the "Option 1" and enter the "target" titleID (this number can be found on top right of this page, here it's 2845). After approval, the two titles will be linked and one marked as a translation of the other. Hauck 13:30, 17 January 2018 (EST)

Done ! Thanks for your patience ! Soratanancy 13:44, 17 January 2018 (EST)
