Welcome!

Hello, Steve Cameron, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 11:36, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Festive Fear

Hi, and welcome. I accepted your submission of Festive Fear: Global Edition. Nice job with your first entry! I made a couple of minor changes to it to get it to conform to ISFDB standards and policies (see some of the links above), and I found a couple of other pieces of information that I added. Here's what I did:

  • The big one is that I changed the cover image link. Our cover image display loads directly from the linked-to server each time the image is displayed, so we only permit links to sites that have granted us permission to do such linking. We do not have such permission from Tasmaniac Publications, so I downloaded the cover you linked to, http://tasmaniacpublications.com/images/FFG-cover-1.jpg and uploaded it to the ISDFB and linked to that copy. See above for a link to lots of details about uploading cover images.
  • While grabbing the image from the Tasmaniac site, I found they credited the cover artist and interior artist, so I added that information. If the credits are not in the book, let me know -- we'd handle that by adding a note in the publication as to the non-book source from which the information was obtained.
  • I regularized the case of the content titles. Mostly, we use lower case for prepositions and determiners. Details are available here (this is accessible from the "Help" link at the top of the screen where you're entering/editing data).

All very minor stuff. As I said, you did a nice job. Again, welcome, and thanks for contributing. --MartyD 12:40, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
