Welcome!

Hello, Theheartofvalor, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!Hauck 05:05, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Your recent submissions

Hello, I've approved your batch of submissions but had to make quite a lot of changes to each one to conform to our standards:

  • Changed publisher to "Susan Illene" as you gave the publishing date as the publisher (perhaps did you read "published").
  • Deleted "PubSeries" and "PubSeriesNum" data, the first field is for a series' name like "Ace Double" and the second should be a number.
  • Uploaded a scan of the cover into our system as we're not allowed to deeplink to the specified website.
  • Left "as-is" the ISBNs that had a bad checksum (note that they do not seem to match what's visible on amazon look-inside).
  • Set the "unknown" formats to tp (note that you indicated a mix of tps and pbs).

The results are here, here, here, here, here and there. As you own the books (or are perhaps their author), please check the ISBNs and the formats. You can also add the prices in the corresponding field and anything that is pertinent in the note field (e.g. the prinitng rank). Please take some time to study the Help pages before submitting another batch. Thanks for contributing. Hauck 08:28, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

I've rejected your latest batch. Please consider the remarks above before submitting again. Hauck 06:17, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
Idem for Shadow Born the same fields were incompletely or wrongly entered. We're all volunteers here so we may not have the time to redo the submissions. Hauck 12:57, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Shadows of Salem

Hello, I've approved and corrected your faulty (image, pubseries, ISBN, number of pages, lack of price, etc...) submissions for the titles in this series even if I have some reservations about them (e.g. what is exactly the publisher or some disperencies with avaliable data). The results are here, here and there. Please note that this is the last time that I'll be doing this for you (your next faulty submission will be directly rejected). Please also take some time to reply to my remarks and read our help pages. Hauck 10:58, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

A Shade of Vampires

Hello, I've approved your submissions but, as it seems that you don't want to agree to our standards, simply deleted data that was not correct (Pubseries, some images, artwork credit as Hansen is given as designer or sometimes just as source of inspiration). Note that first sub-series series is given as juvenile and not the next ones. I'm not sure that no responding to your messages is the best way to work with us. Hauck 10:59, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Demeter's Tablet

I accepted your addition of Demeter's Tablet. However, the ISBN is resulting in a bad checksum. Please double check it to see if there is a typo in the number you entered. Also, can you please fill in the missing info like price & cover artist (same on Dragon Bones). Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 21:42, 23 July 2017 (EDT)

I have searched multiple sites and cannot find a printed version of this book anywhere. As such, I can only assume you meant the ebook version and have updated the record appropriately. -- JLaTondre (talk) 21:53, 23 July 2017 (EDT)

Your recent submissions

Hello, I've approved your recent batch. I've mostly deleted one ISBN, added some artists and changed publishers (e.g. from "Night Spark Media" to simply "Night Spark" as is visible on book or to "Ella Summers" for Mercenary Magic). Note alos that some of the images provided does not seem to correspond to the entered publication. For example, the 2015-12-10 version of Magic Games that you entered is probably this one as ISBN and dates match but the cover and the publisher that you gave are for this later (2017) ebook. On the whole, this batch is of a quite low bibliographical quality (for example no prices are given and the Note field is desperately void). Perhaps should you concentrate on entering correctly one publication at a time instead of trying to mass enter them. Hauck 04:16, 26 July 2017 (EDT)

I've also approved your last batch and added publishers (they can be easily found via amazon look-inside) and/or artist. Frankly, a bit of feedback from you would be nice and polite. Hauck 10:12, 11 August 2017 (EDT)
As you're not responding, I've directly made the necessary corrections on your latest submissions. Hauck 06:35, 18 August 2017 (EDT)

Your last batch of submissions

Hello, I'm going to try to reach you a last time on your talk page as you didn't give an email address. Your present attitude can go on like that.
The first point is that your submissions are "perfectible" bibliographically speaking. Let's take this one: the data entered is pertaining to this ebook but you forget to enter the publisher ("Etopia Press"), the ISBN ("978-1-937976-82-8") that may be found in one glance. You also did not provide any price or written anything in the note field. To the contrary, you entered a number of pages which is quite meaningless for an ebook. All these mistakes are customary for new contributors and are usually quickly corrected, the more so when a dialogue takes place.
This leads me to the second point. At the present time you never answered the numerous messsages left on your talk page and don't seem to be inclined to talk with us, this is clearly not the proper way to participate in a collaborative effort.
The third point is that instead of trying to better your submissions, you're just swamping us with mediocre submissions and don't give the impression that you really want to participate in earnest to our common project.
So, to make my point clear, I've put your latest batch (nearly 30 faulty submissions that would have to be massaged by a moderator into correct entries, the more so because they are Primary Verified and so of a certain supposed quality) on hold pending an acknowledgment from you. If none comes, I'm going to delete them and reject "on sight" any new submissions. I'm sorry to be forced to such extremities but we can't function like this any more. Hauck 06:45, 19 August 2017 (EDT)

OK, let's go. Hauck 12:38, 21 August 2017 (EDT)

Fused in Fire

FYI, I have added Amazon's ASIN and price to your verified Fused in Fire. Ahasuerus 13:37, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
