Serpent of the Shangrove

Hello, I've rejected your submission as it seems we already have this book in this version here and that it have been entered along our standards (note space in between author's initials, likely correct format -tp instead of your proposed pb-, ISBN-13). I've transferred your synopsis and uploaded a scan. If you think that the actual record is faulty, don't hesitate to modify it (you may also become one of its Primary Verifiers). I supposed that you also wanted to enter a review of the book that is visibly not IN the book. Little Blue Marble

Hello,

I have this addition on hold. According to what I can find, this is a webzine only - it does not have a printed counter part and it does not get published as an e-book. According to our rules of Acquisition, this content is specifically excluded so I will have to reject your request to add it. Had I missed something in the description of the webzine? Thanks! Confessions of a Female Safety Engineer

Hello again,

I also had to reject the addition of "Confessions of a Female Safety Engineer". While we do add some of the non-genre titles for major genre authors, a non-genre non-fiction book that has nothing to do with the genre even remotely is really out of scope for this DB. Apologies. Writing the Entertaining Story

I accepted your addition of Writing the Entertaining Story, but made some changes to match our standards:

  • Publisher: I normalized the publisher to "Abyss & Apex Publishing".
  • Pages: We do not record page numbers for ebooks.
  • ISBN: You provided the format as ebook, but entered the ISBN for the print version. We create separate records for each format. I have made this one the ebook and cloned a separate record for the print version. By the way, we use the ISBN format that is on the book so it should be a ISBN13.
  • Price: Only the price for the format entered should be given.
  • Reviews: The reviews were a little confusing since you entered a 2021 date for them which is after the publication date. I'm assuming they are actually in this book, but if not, they should be removed. Reviews should be entered with the name of the publication and the author as per the original work.

Shift

I originally accepted your addition of Shift, but afterword figured out we already has it in the database (see here). I deleted the new version so we don't have a duplicate. Some comments on your addition though:

  • Publisher: Amazon is not a valid entry for publisher. If it was publisher under one of Amazon's imprints, then the imprint should be entered. However, this looks like a self-published book in which case we use the author's name as the publisher.
  • ISBN: An ASIN is not a ISBN. The ASIN goes into the external ID field.
  • Web Pages: Links to booksellers should not be entered in this field.
  • Reviews: This section is for reviews within the publication. It is not for reviews about the publication.
