Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Hello, and thanks again for contributing! Concerning your submission for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by William Johnston I have some questions / doubts.

1) The publisher: We already have the following publishers in the database: Albert Whitman & Company, Whitman Press and Whitman Publishing Company. Judging from the other titles published, I'd guess it is the last of these three. Can you confirm?

2) The price of $0.39 seems a bit cheap for a hardcover of 248 pages.

3) You put Chitty Chitty Bang Bang into the field of publication series when you intended (I guess) to create a title series, that is a series usually defined for novels as a common theme, person or universe. A pub. series resides in most cases with only one publisher (a typical series would be the DAW Collectors series). I have put this and the other submissions on hold while waiting for an answer on this last point (I already dropped the pub. series from Margo Scegge Usher's novel). Thanks, Stonecreek 08:38, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

1) Yes, the last of the three: "Whitman Publishing Company".
2) Here is an image link. It clearly states $0.39 in the upper right hand corner.
3) Correct, I intended to create a title series as they involve the same protagonists. ISFDB's own policy does not set out the restrictions you refer to. For example, it refers to the "Harry Potter" series. Therefore I assume that "series" includes all series, not just publication series.

Okay, I will approve your submissions and add the necessary changes: change the publisher, deleting the publication series and enter them into the title series instead. No restriction, we just have two types of series: title series (to be entered to the title) and pub. series (to be entered at the level of individual publication). One question on Ian Fleming's Story of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by Al Perkins: What is the content of this publication? It sounds a bit like non-fiction, or does it contain Fleming's original short fiction? Stonecreek 08:00, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
