Hazel Iris Addis (born as Hazel Iris Wilson) is a British author and the spouse of Eric Elrington Addis (Cmdr. Addis was also a published author of detective novels under the pseudonym "Peter Drax" including: Murder by Chance, He Shot to Kill, Murder by Proxy, etc.). Together they have a daughter named Valery Ann Addis and a son named Jeremy Addis. She writes under both "Hazel Iris Addis" (for various editions of the Cub Scout Manual and other books for Cub Scouts) and as "A.J. Heritage" or "Hazel Adair" (for all other works). She is the author of Mahogany and Deal, Quoth the Raven, Stranger From Space (with Ronald Marriott), The Enamelled Bird-Cage, and The Darkest Hour. She was the co-creator with Peter Ling of the British soap operas Compact and Crossroads.
