Printing date and number
From 1953 through 1968 Ace used lettered catalog numbers. There is no printing date nor number in these publications though the copyright and price can be used to bracket when the publication may have been published. For the most part these publications are dated via secondary sources.
In 1969 Ace started using five digit catalog numbers. The last digit of these numbers tend to show the printing number.
- Catalog numbers ending in 0 or 5 are a first printing.
- Catalog numbers ending in 1 or 6 are a second printing.
- Catalog numbers ending in 2 or 7 are a third printing.
- Catalog numbers ending in 3 or 8 are a fourth printing.
- Catalog numbers ending in 5 or 9 are a fifth printing.
