It looks like Debbie Mirek was credited as a full co-author in 1994, but was relegated to the "with ..." status in 1997-1999 and completely dropped in 2016. : On both the 1997 and 1999 editions, besides the mini-credit on the cover [set away from the main credits to the Okudas] Ms Mirek is credited on the title page at the bottom of the list of 'Additional Research' and 'Research Consultant' with 'First Edition with Debbie Mirek'. So, they've acknowledged her at least that far. Just by the way it's done it may be hard to justify her as co-author but she is still 1/3 of the authorship for the parts that haven't been revised/updated. If it was that ugly for her then maybe she would prefer to be not listed?? Is it possible to just ask her? Looks like we could go either way so the author's preference could easily be the deciding 'vote' ... ? In this case it's even more confusing than usual because the title page of later editions acknowledges her as a co-author of the ''first edition'', but not as a full-fledged co-author of subsequent editions. <takes another Ibuprofen>

The u/υ looks the same in the ISFDB font but should be visible here (look at the missing last part of the letter). If you do "View source of my note, it reads: "&# 924;&# 959;&# 965;r is not the same as Mour" (adding spaces after &# so Wiki does not render it properly). See how the first 3 are not the regular letters but other letters even if visually they may look the same? That causes issues with sorting and searching because it is not what you think it is. But that would conflate the work of different translators with each other just because, on a sentence and paragraph level, they are saying much the same thing. Believe me, a translator would be insulted to be told that their work is just the same as another translator's. And I think (having looked at all these efforts to convey "The Horla" into English, and found some of them much more satisfactory than others) that there is a great deal of value in separating one translation-attempt from another, even if the translator is unknown and can't be credited. As for why I think that a revised translation doesn't deserve to be separated from its original, those few words changed don't substantially alter what the translator did in terms of style, register, and so forth. Translation is its own matter and deserves to be credited as such.

::: Oh, no, don't misunderstand me, go ahead and add the publisher. I wasn't objecting to that at all. But, remember, the publisher is as noted on the title page, and just as often as not, only the imprint is stated there. That's why it's always been optional to have imprint/publisher in the field. As far as variants for publishers, that will never work well. We need to treat publishers the same way we treat series, where 'nesting' is endless. If we do them as Variants, every time Penguin buys another one, all variants would have to be changed [we can't have a variant of a variant ...], but if the progression of publishers [once a publisher is bought by another one it basically becomes an imprint ...] is treated like we do series, a new 'parent' is easily done without having to re-do possibly thousands of records. As far as "what the book says", you're preaching to the choir. If that was followed as it should, literally hundreds of hours of work wouldn't have been wiped out by numerous, uncalled-for merges. : Went back through all the Tesseracts anthologies and every copyright page presents the name both with all-caps and single-cap. Title pages present the entire name in all-caps so not relevant. 'Edge' is not an acronym; the official address given in each publication doesn't use 'EDGE' but 'Edge' though the website is the opposite. AMICUS [CDN equivalent of LOC] lists the publisher as 'Edge' in publication records. In advertising it's all-caps, but that seems more because the logo doesn't work very well otherwise.
