A quick question about your verified [http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?453036 ''Emergence'']: does it state "July 1985" on the copyright page? And is there a "number line" of any kind or any other indication as to whether this is the second, third, etc printing? TIA! [[User:Ahasuerus|Ahasuerus]] 04:13, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, DarkMatter42, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 23:19, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Computers, Computers, Computers

Hi, and welcome. Thanks for adding the page numbers to Computers, Computers, Computers. Is it safe to assume you have the book? In such cases, if you find an entry that says "Data from Locus" or "Data from Amazon" or data from any other secondary source, you can delete the note or adjust its scope (e.g., suppose the book has no publication date in it, but Locus or Amazon provides one, you might then change the note to "Publication date from Locus"). Please do consider making yourself a Verifier if you do have the book -- just visit the link above and pick "Verify This Pub" from the menu at the left. Thanks, and thanks for contributing. --MartyD 23:24, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Image linking

I had to reject your submission to add a link to the image hosting service Imageshack. Currently that website is not among those that have given us permission to deep-link to their images. Here is a list of those who have. You can always upload the image to our server by clicking the link "Upload cover scan" on the publication record, and then following the directions. After uploading the image you'll have to update the record to link it to the image. (Further instructions are here. Mhhutchins 15:33, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

I accepted the submission to add a link to the record from the image you uploaded to the ISFDB server. Unfortunately you didn't follow the instructions, so there is no license tag to the image, and there is no link from the image to the publication record. The file name also doesn't match the publication's tagged name. All of this would have been done automatically if you'd only used the link "Upload cover scan" on the publication record. I'll do what I can do make corrections in the image file. If you have any questions about our procedures please post a message at the Help Desk. Thanks. Mhhutchins 03:09, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

The Apex Book of World SF

Expanded the notes & added cover scan for The Apex Book of World SF. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 15:41, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Linking images to publication records

As I explained above, uploading cover images doesn't automatically link the file to the publication. That must be done manually. I have done that for you here. I may have missed some, so please go back to the books and see if the images have been linked to the publication records. Thanks. Mhhutchins 20:58, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Computers, Compouters, Computers

Added better cover scan, notes and LCCN/OCLC links to Computers, Compouters, Computers.SFJuggler 04:15, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

More importantly, you changed the title field. Please see the message I left on your page. Mhhutchins 04:28, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Amazing Stories: 60 Years of the Best Science Fiction

Added the OCLC and the LCCN links to Amazing Stories: 60 Years of the Best Science Fiction, when they are accepted. MLB 20:13, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

The Mammoth Book of Nebula Awards SF

Thanks for adding the contents for this anthology. There would have been a much better way to add the contents: via importing the data. You may not have been aware (just as I wasn't aware) that there was a previous publication as The Nebula Awards Showcase 2011, from which an import could have been quite easily done. (Meanwhile, I varianted your anthology to this previous anthology title). This is somewhat unfortunate since the new, automatically generated shortfiction titles will now have to be merged with the previous existing ones. Have you tried this before, or do you Need help for this task? Stonecreek 13:29, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the advice. I really don't understand well enough how to properly contribute to the site, so I'm just trying to add stuff when I have the time and hope that if I do errors [and I seem to do them quite frequently] someone who knows how to deal with stuff here will try and fix it with hopefully not too much of a trouble. Emergence

A quick question about your verified Emergence: does it state "July 1985" on the copyright page? And is there a "number line" of any kind or any other indication as to whether this is the second, third, etc printing? TIA! Ahasuerus 04:13, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello,
