Welcome!

Hello, Junestevens, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --MartyD 10:14, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Voodoo Moon, author credits, etc.

Hi, and welcome. I am handling your submission of Voodoo Moon. I also read the information about "June Stevens" and "DJ Westerfield" on your blog. A couple of changes were needed to make the entry conform to ISFDB standards and policies:

  • Only one publication (ISBN) per entry, so I will split the entry into two, one for the tp and one for the ebook.
  • "Paranorm World" will be what we call a "Title Series" (it would still be that series if another publisher picked it up), not a "Publisher Series". I will move it. This catches every new contributor; there is no way to enter the title series for a new publication until after that publication is submitted. See Help:How to work with series.
  • From the Amazon Look Inside, it looks to me like the only cover art credit is the Danette J. Westerfield. We go by how the publication credits the work, so that's what we would use (then making that be a "pseudonym" for DJ Westerfield, and making a "variant" cover art credit to DJ Westerfield). I will do that. As the Amazon Look Inside doesn't show the whole book, if there's a DJ Westerfield credit for the art, we can switch it.
  • For the "writing as" situation, we do not use dual author credits, which to us means two authors, not two names for one author. Instead, we use the "writing as" name as the author credit (here, June Stevens). Then we make that name be a pseudonym for what we call the "canonical" name (in this case, DJ Westerfield). Normally, the canonical name would be the one the author is most commonly known by (it could, in fact, be a pseudonym), but here it makes sense independent of that consideration. The listing of the title will then show "Voodoo Moon by DJ Westerfield [as by June Stevens]".

I will provide links below when I am done, so you can see how it all looks. You are welcome to edit them further, and feel free to ask questions or object to anything I've done by replying here (just edit this section; indent your response by adding colons to the front, one colon per level of indentation). Thanks, and thank you for contributing. --MartyD 10:38, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok, here you go. See June Stevens and DJ Westerfield. The split-apart records are: tp and ebook. And the Paranorm World series. Please look them over. Thanks. --MartyD 10:57, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
