The Insignia Series

Hi, and welcome. I have a question for you about the Insignia series. The ISFDB has two different concepts of "series". There is a "title series", where all of the works in the series share something in common (universe, theme, etc.), and the titles would still be in the same series regardless of who published them. And there is a "publication series", where books are arbitrarily grouped by the publisher and assigned some label, and the grouping and label would likely not be used by a different publisher publishing the same works.

For "The Insignia Series", we have a mix of both of those. There's a rather incomplete title series, The Insignia Series, and a more complete publication series, The Insignia Series. One of these two treatments is inappropriate, but which one? If you tell me which is the appropriate treatment, I can fix them (or you are welcome to do so if you'd like). Hi MartyD,

Thanks for your message. I was a bit confused about the different options for listed series'. I think a publication series listing is better because the books are all standalone anthologies but 'The Insignia Series' is my label and wouldn't be used by another publisher. Would you mind making sure that all 5 books are listed as a publication series, please? Sorry, I'm still learning my way around in here! KMatsuura 01:33, 23 July 2018 (EDT)KMatsuura
