Omnibus vs Anthology

Both publications that you want to change to Anthologies are properly classified as Omnibus. All the contents are novels, not short stories. This help page has the definitions/parameters that we use. Lamps on the Brow

The "Herne's Lady" title has been corrected. As for quality of construction statement, that does not seem applicable for a bibliographic site. While I can sympathize with the issue, we're not really about critiquing publication quality. If you want, however, you are welcome to start a discussion at the ISFDB:Community Portal‎ to see if there is interest in allowing such statement. Image Uploading

Cover image uploading is a two step process. Once you have uploaded a cover to the wiki, you need to click on the image (so you get just the image), copy that URL, and then edit the publication to add the URL to the publication. So for Image:THBKFNDRND1987.jpg, you need to enter http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/3/32/THBKFNDRND1987.jpg, in The Book of Andre Norton.

If you have a better quality image (keeping in mind to limit the size to 600px on largest side), go to the image page (ex Image:THBKFNDRND1987.jpg) and use the "Upload a new version of this file" at the bottom of the page. It will warn you that are overwriting an existing image, but just go ahead. If someone else uploaded the prior image, edit the image page after uploading and change the name in the source field to your user name. You will not need to re-edit the publication entry as it will already be linked. However, due to a bug with out wiki software, your browser may not show the new image unless you force a cache refresh (typically a shift F5).

Regarding "I have images of titles that have no upload button": I'm not sure what you mean. Can you provide an example?

Storms of Victory

Regarding your proposed edits to Storms of Victory:

• We credit per the title page. Does the story title page specify that "The Chronicler" is by Andre Norton or is that from knowledge outside the book? If the second, we would leave it as uncredited and variant to Andre Norton. When it's a single author book, it is assumed all work is by the author unless otherwise stated. However, this is a dual author book so it is ambiguous (within the book) unless explicitly credited.
• We title per the title page. We will add disambiguations when there is a common title used in multiple publications (typically Introduction, Foreword, Preface, etc. but we will sometimes do the same for other titles that repeat). When we add a disambiguation, we use the title of the book; not a description. So this should stay "The Chronicler (Storms of Victory)".
• Are the various "The Chronicler" entries different works or the same content in each of the pubs? If it is actually the same, then there is no need for disambiguation and they should all be merged tohether.
• We typically don't list fictionally forewords & afterwords that are part of the story. Is there something unique in these cases to list them?

My Knowledge is from outside the books. The Chronicler is made up of 9 works that are the narrations in the 3 titles making up "Witch World the Turning". All nine works are different.

In "Storms of Victory" The Chronicler is only titled as "The Chronicler" and what I called "Afterword" is just italicized text at the end of both stories in the book.

In "Flight of Vengeance" The Chronicler is only titled as "The Chronicler" and what I called "Afterword" is just italicized text at the end of "Exile" and is titled "Afterword" and italicized at the end of "Falcon Hope".

In "On Wings of Magic" The Chronicler is only titled as "The Chronicler" and what I called "Afterword" is actually titled "Interlude" and is italicized at the end of "We, the Women" and titled "Afterword" and not italicized after "Falcon Magic".

So list them however you want. I was calling the out with page numbers to help people identify them. Lotsawatts 20:03, 14 July 2020 (EDT)

Okay, I updated them all so they have "The Chronicler (BOOK TITLE)" credited to untitled and varianted to Andre Norton (so shows up as "short story by Andre Norton [as by uncredited]"). I removed the Afterwords, etc. Thanks for the information. -- JLaTondre (talk) 17:57, 15 July 2020 (EDT)

"Psychocrat"

Thanks for clarifying that "Psychocrat" is not a real Andre Norton series! It's now been deleted. Once the series was gone, your submission had to be moved to the "rejected" state because it was associated with a no longer existing ISFDB record. Thanks again! Ahasuerus 09:57, 28 July 2020 (EDT)
