Hello, Terraflorin, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!.--Dirk P Broer 05:32, 25 January 2019 (EST)

Paradox, #1, November 1972

Hi, I think you may want to review the edits that I had to do to the first issue of Paradox fit to our standards. I might have made mistakes with the fiction or essay categories, or made spelling mistakes.--Dirk P Broer 07:50, 31 January 2019 (EST)

Távoli tűz

I'm afraid that I had to put your submission on hold, as it is near empty (basically it has only the title information). We are a publication-based data bank and as such there should be information at least on publisher and format. (I do concede that we have some publications without that information, but that's only for books much older than this one, where no information is available anywhere - including the books.) If you can't provide any more information, I'm afraid I'll have to reject the publication. Stonecreek 01:34, 11 May 2019 (EDT)

Since there does exist a German translation, I intend to add that instead. Stonecreek 02:19, 12 May 2019 (EDT)

New development: after getting into the Hungarian (which I'm not good in) text at Wikipedia I was able to deal with your submission and add the missing publisher and format. Stonecreek 13:03, 13 May 2019 (EDT)

Transliteration vs translation

Hi, Transliteration is not the same as Translation. Furnica electrică transliterates as Furnica electricah or just Furnica electrica.--Dirk P Broer 18:51, 22 July 2019 (EDT)

May I again stress the fact that transliteration is more than just replacing all accents with accent-less variants? It is writing the word/title in such a way that the pronunciation in e.g. English is the same as in the original language. Read e.g. --Dirk P Broer 08:26, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Your submission for Inimă de ciută

I have put that one on hold since there again are some informations missing, especially the format. Further, you have chosen "Data from another source": in that case details should be provided in the submitted notes. Please state some more things here. Stonecreek 02:53, 3 September 2019 (EDT)

Without an answer I have rejected the submission. There was the additional incongruency that the Romanian Wikipedia has this as shortfiction, not a novel. Stonecreek 06:28, 5 September 2019 (EDT)

Sci-Fi Magazin

Hi, I have put this on hold: magazines are somewhat complicated, and we do need the issue number and/or other specification of the issue like here). Stonecreek 10:48, 20 October 2019 (EDT)

Hi Stonecreek, all issues with all stories (both in Romanian and English) is here.

Thanks for the additional information. However, I had to drop the image link since it was adressed to a page that we don't have allowance to link to. Stonecreek 15:10, 21 October 2019 (EDT)
PS: I try to edit my user page with some information about me, but I don't have permission to edit pages in the User namespace. why? --Terraflorin 02:37, 21 October 2019 (EDT)
As a general remark, it's best to post problems or questions at the help desk.
I posted your problem at the help desk, and it seems you will need a bit more of regular edits (take a look here). Stonecreek 13:22, 24 October 2019 (EDT)
Stonecreek, hi again, now I am able to edit my user page. Many thanks. I have a questions, here ( where is (trans. of ...TITLE IN ENGLISH) for each story? --Terraflorin 09:25, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
It had not been done yet - it needs to be done story by story. Here is a small how to so you can try on your own. For each story, locate the original in the author's bibliography. For example for Eu, robotul, the original is I, Robot. Make sure that you get the short story and not the chapbook and that you have the top parent when there are variants.
Once you located it, copy the ID of the title (top right corner or the address bar. In this case it is 377131. Go back to the Romanian story. Look in the left menu. There is a link "Make This Title a Variant". Press on it. For our story that I am demonstrating with, it will open this page. In Option 1, paste the ID we got earlier and press "Link to Existing Parent". When approved, the link will be created
If you cannot find an original, you an use Option 2 in the same menu. If the author name is not one that had been connected to the main author, you will also need to pseudonym them (go to the author, look at the left menu, should be self-explanatory). Let me know if you have any questions.
Welcome again. It is good to have a Romanian editor. :) Annie 12:32, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
Hi Annie, many thanks for informations. My Pending Edits is waiting for aprovals. PS - I created articles like Science-fiction in Bulgaria or Загадката на бялата долина (in Romanian) --Terraflorin 13:02, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
Approved. A few more things: As you know Romanian does not use s-cedilla (ş) or t-cedilla (ţ), it uses ț and ș for these two letters). Some of the internet sources use the cedillas (because they do not know better or because they do not have the proper characters). So you may want to be careful about that when copying. A few made it in the wrong way so you may want to correct.
We also need transliteration for any title that uses a non-Latin1 charachers - for Romanians, these are ț, ș, â, ă, î and their capital counterparts). You can add transliteration on the publication level when you add it, for stories, they need to be added one by one. If you forget to add them, we have a report and someone will - but if you remember to, it will be nice :) This one for example needs transliteration.
My Romanian is non-existent but if you need anything from the Bulgarian side (or most Slavic languages), I am usually around). :) Annie 13:59, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Vești bune din spațiul extraterestru Cover Image

Cover image uploading is a two step process. Once you have uploaded a cover to the wiki, you need to click on the image (so you get just the image), copy that URL, and then edit the publication to add the URL to the publication. So for Image:VTBNDNSPLX1998.jpg, I entered this URL, in Vești bune din spațiul extraterestru. Thanks for uploading this cover. -- JLaTondre (talk) 11:00, 26 October 2019 (EDT)

Viziuni periculoase

A few things on that one:

  • ISBN9789737078674 should be just 9789737078674 :)
  • We are not authorized to link to for images. The list of what we are authorized is here. I had to pull this one out.
  • Just to confirm - pb is to be used only for books which are the size of a standard American mass market or smaller. How big is this book?

Thanks. The result is here. Annie 14:04, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Noaptea în care-a erupt timpul

Is Aldiss credited as Brian Aldiss or as Brian W. Aldiss in the ebook here? Annie 14:34, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Is credited as Brian W. Aldiss. --Terraflorin 14:37, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
OK then. Approved. Making sure (we always go by the title page of the book (plus normalization)). Did you see my two notes above? :) Annie 14:45, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
Yes, I read them. I'll look later for a cover. --Terraflorin 14:52, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

James Cross

We do not do an alternative name unless he publishes under his real name. In this case he had not -- so we put the real name under Legal name and leave it at that. As there is no work under the real name once you corrected the one in the Romanian book, the real name record disappeared - so all I could do was to hard reject the pseudonym connection. Annie 15:32, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Pub Series

Pub Series are for series by the publishers (so for Romanian books, these will be mostly in Romanian - it is for things like "Fantasy Library" and so on as opposed to title level series (the Foundation for example)). I removed Penryn & the End of Days from Lumea de apoi - this is a title series and it will come to the title record when you do the variant to connect it. If it is indeed a Romanian one, please get the Romanian spelling as written in the book. Annie 15:50, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Pasărea Domnului

This says: "Format: 130 x 200 mm, paperback" which for us means tp. I changed it - unknown should be used only when we really have no idea if this is hc or paperback (or goat skin for all we know) :)

And on a separate note: we also record translators. I added it here. When adding novels you can do that in the Title note - then you do not need to update later. For stories, it goes on the title level so needs to be added later. :) Note the usage of the template. Any translated story/novel and so on should have a translator added. When it is unknown or uncredited and cannot be found, we can use {{Tr|an uncredited hand}} for example.

Thanks for adding these! :) Annie 15:58, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Lumii îi spuneau pădure

We have a special place for OCLC numbers so I moved it there. :) Also - the chapbook type is for cases when a single story or a poem is published on its own; novels are always recorded as novels. I also reformatted the note a bit and fixed the format (130x200 paperback means "tp"). The result is here. Annie 02:32, 30 October 2019 (EDT)

Oops. You got the chapbook right - my brain misfired somehow. In such cases you need to also add the novella as a separate record - this is the only case where the container and the content are two different titles. Now fixed. Can you please add the translator? Thanks! Annie 02:36, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
The nume of translator is missing (here is many works of Ursula K. Le Guin in Romanian with translators), the original work in English is The Word for World Is Forest. --Terraflorin 02:41, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
Ah. Then we mark it as uncredited (see above). Do you want to variant it or do you want me to? Annie 02:47, 30 October 2019 (EDT)

Orașul iluziilor

Anthology means "stories from different authors". Collection means "Stories by one author". When you have multiple novels in one book, it is an omnibus. So this is an omnibus. I also fixed the format (again) and added the translator where he belongs. I also removed the price. What we are looking for are prices as printed on the books and/or prices that are set, not the price of how much you can buy it now (with this .07, it looks like a discounted price). Do you know if the book has a printed price? Annie 02:46, 30 October 2019 (EDT)

I don't have a printed price right now. I found two errors on site: Publisher: Editură Nemira is the same with Nemira, and collection of Nemira, Publication Series: Colecția Nautilus Science Fiction is the same with Publication Series: Nautilus --Terraflorin 02:57, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
And the real name is Editura Nemira, not Editură Nemira. --Terraflorin 03:00, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
If you tell me which name you prefer, I can reunite them :) Annie 03:08, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
PS: Did you see the note: here? There is a reason for the two different pub series. Annie 03:09, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
The books which are not numbered belong to the same series, otherwise it can interpret that there are two different series. --Terraflorin 03:23, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
So is it really the same series or is it a resurrected series with a new format? In the latter case, we usually record as separate series and add links between them and an explanation. We can combine them if you insist but even Wikipedia lists them somewhat separately and calls the non-numbered ones "new series". If they are indeed the same series and they just dropped numbering and changed formats, we can certainly bring them together but it looks like separate series make more sense. What do you think? :) Annie 03:27, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
Yes, it's better that way (as separate series), let's not get complicated. The new series continued to have the same cover graphics at the beginning, but over time was changed to another format.--Terraflorin 03:35, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
Maybe Editura Nemira and Colecția Nautilus (the same names from wiki). There are hundreds of volumes published in this collection and a lot of work to add them all to Isfdb. --Terraflorin 03:14, 30 October 2019 (EDT)
The publisher is fixed but see the note on the pub series - we split them for a reason. :) As for the work - welcome to the fun. You should see my "to add" list. :) Annie 03:18, 30 October 2019 (EDT)

(unindent) Just as a reminder - the chapbook and omnibus records also need to be varianted - you got the stories and the novels, but the containers also need it. Annie 03:59, 30 October 2019 (EDT)

I added the translator to the notes for your submission Pistolarul. Bob 11:20, 31 October 2019 (EDT)

Thanks Bob --Terraflorin 04:48, 1 November 2019 (EDT)

Would you be able to add the two Romanian editions of Elantris (Paladin and Tritonic)? Any other that exist of course. One of the editors had been asking for help so I thought I should come ask :) Annie 21:45, 31 October 2019 (EDT)

Annie, hi. Please change in my Submission 4454943 Editura Tritonic in Tritonic. --Terraflorin 03:09, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Done and I also did the variants. You may want to see how I modified the notes to use a link. Does Tritonic need to be Editura Tritonic? Or is just Tritonic fine? Or is that a longer conversation on the topic of "do we need Editura in the names of Romanian publishers". Thanks for adding them :)
PS: Using a link to one's name does not ping them that and does not send a notification. Just so you know :) Annie 03:33, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Both versions are used. If there is no other Tritonic publishing house in the world with the same name, we can use this name (without Editura). For Editura Paladin, for disambiguation, we will use Editura in the front of nume, because allready exist another Publisher: Paladin. --Terraflorin 03:43, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Then we are all good :) Annie 03:55, 1 November 2019 (EDT)

Edit my submissions

Why I can't edit my submissions before be approved by a moderator (or not)? In my submission 4455121 is a error: is Editura Paladin, instead of Editura Nemira --Terraflorin 05:18, 1 November 2019 (EDT)

No edit I am afraid. Once it is submitted you can only cancel and a moderator can only approve or reject. You can correct the mistakes after it is approved or you can cancel the one you have and resubmit it again. Annie 05:25, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Yeah, I thought about canceling, but I don't like to abort a submission. But if there is no other alternative... --Terraflorin 05:29, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Approved and changes after that. :) Can you please at least try to write the notes with the link properly added in them and not just pasted into the note? See the ones I edited earlier for an example. Otherwise you are forcing a moderator to always edit after you. And we need this translator as a Title note.  :) Annie 05:38, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
I do not understand exactly, you refer to use something like that

Data from <a href="https://www.NNNNN">publisher's website</a>.
{{Tr|NAME}} ?? --Terraflorin 05:49, 1 November 2019 (EDT)

Yep - if you want to add the link to the notes, put it in the proper tags. Or just say publisher site and do not add the link to the notes, instead put It without tags into the moderator note. (Any link that is bound to stop working is probably not a good idea in the notes but you know your publishers better so you can judge how stable these links are.
And the Tr template is so that when one day we have a proper system for translators, we can easily identify and migrate them from the existing records. And in addition, they help with identifying editions. Both things can be fixed post approval - but if it is always better if the initial submission is as complete as possible.  :) Annie 05:54, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Why don't we have pages with translators on isfdb? I wanna click on the name with a translator to open a page with all the works translated from the database. --Terraflorin 06:16, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
The short answer is "because we are not there yet". The much longer answer involves how the DB was created and evolved through the years - it was not truly international outside of a few Latin-based languages for a long time and we had been dragging it kicking and screaming into the rest of the languages. So... baby steps. One day we should be able to do that -- but not yet. For now, we collect the information. :) Annie 13:41, 1 November 2019 (EDT)
Ok, in the future maybe... I think... the page of a translator is more important than that of a cover artist. Just my opinion. --Terraflorin 02:40, 2 November 2019 (EDT)

40 de semne de ploaie

This was perfect. Only two small things:

Put that in the Pub note, not the moderator note (the moderator note is for notes for the approver and/or verifier; they do not stay with the record
Copy the Tr part in the Title Note as well (it is higher on the page, under the title and the series.

Thanks! Annie 13:39, 1 November 2019 (EDT)

Moartea purpurie

Fixed the price format here - it is always "Currency value" (for currencies in words) where value is in American format (so X,XXX.xx). Can you also confirm the size of this book? This says 165 x 115 which technically will make it a tp: from the help page: For books as tall as 7.25" (19 cm) or as wide/deep as 4.5" (11.5 cm) use "tp". Annie 12:06, 5 November 2019 (EST)

On back cover is written LEI 1900. The dimenions of book is L 16,5 x l 11,5 cm (I just measured now) --Terraflorin 12:15, 5 November 2019 (EST)
I understand for the price but it still need to be formatted for the DB. If you want, you can add in the notes how exactly it is on the cover but for the field, it needs to be "Lei 1,900" :)
Yeah, 16,5 x l 11,5 cm means "tp" (it is as wide as 4.5" (11.5 cm)), not "pb". There aren't a lot of European books that fit the "pb" sizing :) Annoying but the rules are rules. I tend to add the exact size in the notes for Bulgarian books. Annie 12:29, 5 November 2019 (EST)

Clovis Dardentor et al

Many thanks for the text of the Romanian translations. It's nice to think that people are looking at this stuff. If you own the book, you might want to "Verify This Pub" (menu option in the Editing Tools for a publication). This will let people know that they can contact you if they have questions about the book. Once I've got the Verne titles cleaned up, I hope to get text for all the unknowns by chasing down people who have done such a verification. ../Doug H 12:58, 5 November 2019 (EST)

Capela excomunicaților

I had to remove the ISBN for Capela excomunicaților that you submitted because it was not correct (bad checksum). Bob 15:28, 5 November 2019 (EST)

Almanahul Anticipația 1983

this needs a note on sources (unless you are verifying of course). Annie 18:13, 5 November 2019 (EST)

Hi, Annie: I have added a infobox and content of book from page 320 scaned from Almanahul Anticipația 1983 here on my blog, I hope is fine, and I must add data to The book is online here.--Terraflorin 01:03, 6 November 2019 (EST)
We just need a note in the publication. :) even if it says “data from scanned contents page” or something along these lines. Link these into the note and that’s works as well. :) A work with no verifications and no notes makes it very hard to track down later on - or determine if it is legit at all. I have no doubt that you know what you are adding. But someone finding the page in a year won’t have a clue where to start looking (if there is a typo for example - did it come from the book or the editor mistyped). Annie 01:12, 6 November 2019 (EST)

FantLab is one of our external identifiers so no need to link to it - you just add the ID and mention it is there. I fixed it here. Also - essays with generic titles (Introduction and so on), regardless of the language get disambiguated with the name of the book - this way you do not end up with an author with a list of 20 essays saying Introduction. I fixed it there and in this one. Annie 11:36, 6 November 2019 (EST)

A little Romanian housekeeping

Would you mind getting some of the Romanian housekeeping out of the way - while adding all the books is more than appreciated, there are some post-approval (or pre-approval if you remember about them) that need finishing:

  • The cedillas: a few made it through
  • Transliterations: title and publications. These pile up quickly... The reason to need transliterations is that the DB is not Unicode (yet). Think of how a Romanian without the ability to produce Romanian characters would search in internet for a title in Romanian (drop all diacritics is always one of the transliterations; you can add more if you want to).

Thanks in advance! Annie 11:51, 6 November 2019 (EST)

Just in case you are not seeing it, î also needs transliteration. I am fixing it when I see you missed it but it seems to happen now and then so just heads up. î and â always throw me for a loop when transliterating Romanian - I know they are the same letter (different place in the word) but my inclination is to go just for i/a respectively... :) Annie 15:19, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Dimensiuni primejdioase

I changed the pub series on this one to disambiguate it - SF is a commonly used name and when a pub series is called that way, we use the publisher name to disambiguate. We already have 5 of them and there will be more I am sure :)

Thanks for formatting the price, the links and the translator properly! Just one more small thing: When you add the Tr template in the pub note, can you also copy it to the title note (it is higher on the page)? They serve somewhat different purposes, the one on the title note is the one we really must have. I had been copying it on approval. Of course in this case, it will need to also be copied into each story while/before varianting them. Thanks again!:) Annie 11:56, 6 November 2019 (EST)

Permissions for Dan Apostol

I may be missing it but I do not see any of the sources' permission for this one to include copying the image? We need a license tag: one of these which specifies how we got the image and what permissions we are using for having it on the site. Thanks! Annie 12:51, 6 November 2019 (EST)

Colecția "Povestiri științifico-fantastice"

Hello again,

  • We use uncredited when an author/editor is not known
  • Magazines need to have issue numbers and/or dates. Considering that you added a series, is this a magazine really or a series of pamphlets?
  • As you own the magazine, can you please add format?

I fixed the unknown and the result is here. if this is not a real magazine, we have a different type for these (CHAPBOOK and not magazines). Annie 13:11, 6 November 2019 (EST)

L = 20 x l= 13 cm. 467 issues appeared until 1990, and several hundreds more after the fall of communism. (Issues 1-100 here).--Terraflorin 13:20, 6 November 2019 (EST)
So it is a magazine. If I am reading this page correctly, the first two issues had the novella split between them? In this case we use SERIAL inside of the magazine. Do you want me to fix this issue and add the second one so you can see what I mean?
20x13 is closest to large digest (which we record as digest) - which is 21x13. Or maybe octavo (especially if it is saddle-stapled and not glued). I know exactly the format you mean and it is in between the standard ones here. Annie 13:53, 6 November 2019 (EST)
Ok, thanks, please fix. A question, how do i add Comics? --Terraflorin 13:57, 6 November 2019 (EST)
You do not. They are not eligible (see the exclusion list). We have some (a lot of them need deleting) but the short answer is "unless the author is above treshhold (basically a SF author that just writes outside of the genre now and then), comics are not allowed in the DB. Will let you know when I fix this one. Annie 14:06, 6 November 2019 (EST)
Hm. Planeta fără pterodactili from Publication: Almanah Anticipația 1983, is a comic, but Marcel Luca is a SF author. --Terraflorin 14:11, 6 November 2019 (EST)
If it is inside of the anthology, just click on the "graphic format" checkbox for that story (open the story, edit, you will see it). It won't be eligible on its own but it is as part of a SF anthology :) Meanwhile see this :) If the editor is the same, these two will be merged but as you added them separately, I had to leave the on their own. Let me know if you have questions. Annie 14:17, 6 November 2019 (EST)
Please use the NUMBER of the issue in the title (Colecția "Povestiri științifico-fantastice", #1 for example -- the yearly title on the EDITOR will come from a later update) and please do NOT add the pub series and number - magazines are saved differently. Slow down and see what I did and ask any questions you have. I know you want to add as much as you can as fast as you can but if I need to do double the work to fix them after that, it kinda does not make sense.
And please look at my messages above - a lot of them require actions. Annie 14:24, 6 November 2019 (EST)

(unindent) I just marked "Planeta fără pterodactili" as graphoc format here as per your note. :) Annie 14:39, 6 November 2019 (EST)

And next ? (Planeta fără pterodactili • interior artwork by Sandu Florea) Is the same work.--Terraflorin 14:42, 6 November 2019 (EST)
You have two choices: You leave it as is (and you can add a note to the Publication on the two records and what they are) or we can delete the internal art and add the artist as a second author on the story. We usually use the first approach (so the artists do not accumulate stories under their name) but either can work. Annie 14:45, 6 November 2019 (EST)

Uploading images

I was just looking at some of the URLs in your books and it looks like you are uploading images before the pub is created and directly into the wiki? While that technically works, this means that the connection to the book never got created - and there is no way to track from them to the book. Compare this to this - see how the second one knows which publication it belongs to and the link to it works? You still need to update the pub to add it there but the links on the wiki will lead to it if it gets displaced. So instead of directly uploading a cover, wait until the publication is there and then press the "Upload cover" link. This will create a unique name for the cover and set a tag and create the links. Thanks!

Let me know if you need any assistance or if I can explain anything else around that. And thanks for taking care of these transliterations (and fixing typos and prices and as you go). Annie 00:54, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Initially I uploaded images in this mode, but now after the page is created I use Upload new cover scan --Terraflorin 00:59, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Perfect! :) Annie 01:01, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Job done! No Romanian Titles with no Transliterated Names and No Romanian Publications without Transliterated Titles- I believe someone helped with this, I didn't have time to edit all entries from lists.--Terraflorin 01:06, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Thanks a lot! People always help - I did a few, some other editors pitched in. The more people we have that help, the more time we all have to actually add more books as opposed to just fixing records. A small tip: If you add the transliteration when you add the book, it will automatically be added to the pub title and the title record and the cover record if you are adding one. If you do not, it will need to be done one by one again. :) Keep an eye on the two reports once in awhile -- plus the cedilla ones - if something is forgotten, they run at around this time every night -- so the titles from the last 24 hours are added then.
If you want another cleanup job this week, there are 232 Romanian titles here which need translators records. For some of them it may be just a copy/paste from the publication (you know how I keep asking you to put it in both when you adding initially - this is why), for some it may need more digging. Want to see what you can do? Some of them are old (you may be able to find something a non-Romanian speaking editor cannot), some are from your books :) Annie 01:28, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Ok, I just added this links at my ToDo list. Other titles appears here and here. Is a Sisyphus work :D --Terraflorin 01:38, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Look on the bright side - not ALL of your titles need transliterations. Bulgarian uses Cyrillic. Every single title, publisher, series and so on and so on needs transliteration. Same with Russian. And most of them need translators as well. And I work in most of the Eastern and Central European languages as well and they all love weird letters so... yep, never ending. So I recruit the fellow language editors to help. Annie 01:45, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Ah yes - I think you looked last time while it was regenerating. For about 30 minutes every night, at 1 am Eastern US time, all reports are empty while being regenerated one by one. And we have 4 new titles with cedillas (here). BTW we have two more Romanian reports: authors and pubs with cedillas - in case you want all of them. And Romanian names appear on the series and publishers and pub series lists but I usually pick these out. Annie 01:45, 7 November 2019 (EST)

So... what are you trying to do here? If you are trying to add this as an alternative title, it should be in the notes; the transliteration field is only for transliterations (which a number does not need). Annie 02:30, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Is two essays with this name in the book. my mystake, I edited in the transliteration cell!! --Terraflorin 02:32, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Ah, ok. I will approve the ones in the queue and edit to move the update up. No worries - won't be the last time you do that :) Annie 02:34, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Thanks, please move the update title up for all essays with year in title, my mystake again. --Terraflorin 02:36, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Done. I had them on hold while posting here - now they are approved and edited :) Annie 02:39, 7 November 2019 (EST)
About your question on notes, see how I changed Ciberiada. The Tr syntax is not mandatory in the Publication notes for now (it does not harm though so if you want to edit them, go ahead). So we had not had a full scale effort to clean the pub notes from the pub notes as we have from the title notes. :) Annie 02:47, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Terra - planeta vieții

This sounds like a pure historical book and not one related to speculative fiction at all ("what if" as history is not eligible; "what if" as stories is). Which puts it into category 3 here so not eligible. Unless the author is basically a SF author who writes outside of the genre once in a blue moon (think Asimov for example). So why is that eligible? Annie 02:56, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Is a book about ancient (aliens) astronauts like Erinnerungen an die Zukunft (Chariots of the Gods) by Erich von Däniken.--Terraflorin 03:56, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Colecția "Povestiri științifico-fantastice", #4

Hi, in Colecția "Povestiri științifico-fantastice", #4 there is Marea experiență • short fiction by Marea experiență This can't be good, I hope you have the real author.--Dirk P Broer 08:44, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Is Mircea Naumescu --Terraflorin 11:06, 7 November 2019 (EST)

The better order is: "Add a publication. Then variant". If you create the variant first and you do not add a publication before the cleanup reports are created overnight, it will be deleted and you will need to redo it. So let's follow the sequence that makes sure noone deletes your work? :) Annie 12:32, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Ok, boss :) --Terraflorin 12:44, 7 November 2019 (EST)
Copy the Tr to BOTH notes (pub and title) on the page for new publications... please? :) Annie 12:52, 7 November 2019 (EST)

Series and translations

Someone else handled those (it was very late for me) but a few notes on series and translations:

  • You do not need to add the series to a translation. When you variant it, it will be shown from the parent. If you add it to the translation and you do not use the same spelling, someone will need to clean it manually (if it is the same spelling, it is just removed automatically during the varianting)

So... less work for you (no series and series numbers for translations), less likely for that title to end up in yet another cleanup report. :) Annie 12:55, 7 November 2019 (EST)

The magazines

Hello again,

Please do not add a publication series to the magazines and do not add a series number to their titles. We handle the magazines a bit differently than regular series so when you add these, they need to cleaned up after that. Thanks! Annie 12:18, 8 November 2019 (EST)

Almanah Anticipația 1985 / Picnic la marginea drumului

Image:Picnic la marginea drumului txt.jpg
Hi, In the anthology Almanah Anticipația 1985 you have entered the entire novel Picnic la marginea drumului, but it only has 50 pages. To compare: Picnic la marginea drumului (1993) has 160 pages.--Dirk P Broer 05:14, 9 November 2019 (EST)

Almanah Anticipația 1985 contain all four sections (chapters) of the novel and is published with very small font. See above image.--Terraflorin 05:24, 9 November 2019 (EST)

Hello! I've just approved some of your submissions. It's not necessary to add "translator" as well. Leaving it out saves time and labor. Rudolf Rudam 06:02, 10 November 2019 (EST)

Ok, good news! --Terraflorin 07:32, 10 November 2019 (EST)
Just to make sure we are all on the same page here - we still need translators on the Title note level; it can be skipped only on the Publication note level. Annie 21:39, 10 November 2019 (EST)
