• Note: A note in the Weldun edition of "Waltz of Death" says that Maxon was killed while mountain climbing in Switzerland before the book was published. Confusingly it says the story was originally published in 1946 which is the copyright date on the book. This suggests that the Weldun books were published in 1946, and that Maxon died before 1946, but possibly not before the original 1941 publication. "Worlds of Tomorrow", (V3, #6, 1966) says that Maxon "had dropped dead in a rented room the very night he finished and mailed the manuscript to [his] agent [Ed Bodin]."
