Note: Wife of Groff Conklin from 1937 until her death in 1954. The cause of death seems to be unknown, but in 1954 Groff and Lucy Conklin published "Public Affairs Pamphlet #138", titled "Good News About Diabetes". It seems likely then that *someone* in their family, possibly Lucy, suffered from diabetes. (At that time, insulin had been discovered, and in 1954 the precursor to Metformin was derived, but most current diabetes medications and affordable insulin were not yet available.)
