  • Series: Ansible (magazine) Series Record # 28975
  • Webpages: Ansible, Fancyclopedia 3, zinewiki.com
  • Note: Editor: David Langford Format: Print fanzine, subdivided into First Series (1979-1987, quarto size) and Second Series (1991-present, A4 size). Contents for all issues also appear at the Ansible website and can be accessed from the main index, or via ISFDB records for each print issue. Some website editions contain more contents than the print editions. Declared by Langford to be a Semiprozine in 2003 in order to take it out of contention for the Hugo Award with other fanzines. Many First Series issues of Ansible contained stapled within them other newsletters, specifically, TAFF Talk, TAFF-ETA and The Northern Guffblower, as well as other ballot papers, nomination forms, polls. etc. Because the above three were mostly edited by others and contained their own separate issue numeration and dates as well as essay/interior art content, separate publication records have been created for them; this also applies for issues of Ansible where the above newsletters were included as single-page content within Ansible itself. They are of marginal interest to ISFDB users, but have been indexed for what is hopefully useful bibliographic purposes. (editor PeteYoung) Awards:
    • Hugo Award for Best Fanzine: 1987, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2002.
    • Hugo Award for Best Semiprozine: 2005.
