- Series: The Sketch Book Series Record # 9391
-
Note: Washington Irving wrote the original serial collection, The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent., while living in England 1815 to 1819. Volume V contained the 5-story series now called Old Christmas, featuring Christmas celebrations experienced by Crayon on a visit to Bracebridge Hall. The sequel collection Bracebridge Hall contains stories about all the residents of that "English manor (based on Aston Hall, near Birmingham, England, which was occupied by members of the Bracebridge family and which Irving visited)." --from Wikipedia coverage of both collections, quoting its "Bracebridge Hall" (see also the two collections)
