The outside spine of this perfect-bound large digest says it is a product of Writers Notebook Press; however, the masthead fine print lists the publisher as Pulphouse Publishing. Its publisher is listed as Dean Wesley Smith. The two-color cover art, and multiple interior artwork pieces, have no identifying artist name anywhere in the publication. The Report is subtitled A Magazine By and For Writers of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. The Godwin essay on page 11 is a reprint from MZB's Fantasy Magazine. The Report later shifted to a newsprint production format due to high demand, per a statement by Publisher Dean Wesley Smith.
