Dillingham & Co.   678 Broadway, from 1875 as successor to Lee, Shepard & Dillingham (maybe; below source is unclear on this)   718 and 720 Broadway, from January 1888 Charles Theodore Dillingham (born 1842-12-07), LCCN nr89-013850 -- "member of firm of C.T. Dillingham and Co., booksellers and publishers, New York" (perhaps as fashioned by the cited geneal. source) Charles T. Dillingham (born 1842 in Bangor Maine USA) worked for publisher Oliver S. Felt from 1862 until Mr. Felt's death in 1868; then established Felt & Dillingham with Francis B. Felt, dissolved 1870; then established Lee, Shepard & Dillingham as its managing partner in New York City, dissolved 1875 (see also Lee and Shepard); "and Mr. Dillingham engaged in the jobbing business under his own name".   Dillingham was president of the Booksellers' and Stationers' Provident Association (established 1879); "the first and only president" as of 1888 (now 1000 members). --J.
