Note: New York City Succeeded by The McClure Company per advertisement by the latter "Fall Books" NY Times 1907-10-18 p21 (address of the successor, 44 East 23rd St, New York) Evidently this was the book publishing business of Samuel Sidney McClure (1857–1949) and John Sanborn Phillips (1861–1949), who founded the monthly McClure's Magazine in 1893, published by The S. S. McClure Co.. Phillips left the magazine in 1906. S. S.
