  • Publisher: Jonathan Cape Publisher Record # 661
  • Webpages: Wikipedia-EN
  • Note: London, 30 Bedford Square, per one 1933 newspaper advertisement The Observer 1928-07-01 p8 "Books and Authors": "Jonathan Cape last year tried the experiment of publishing books for children in time for the August holidays. It was altogether successful. And here he is again with two trumps up his magicianly sleeves." Namely, Doctor Dolittle's Garden by Hugh Lofting and Bambi by Felix Salten, from the German. Jonathan Cape was founded in 1919 as "Jonathan Page and Company"; the name was changed to "Jonathan Cape" in 1921. Merged with Chatto and Windus in 1969. Became an imprint of Random House in 1987. ISBN Prefix: 0224. Cape Travellers' Library seems to be a significant imprint, "Jonathan Cape Children's Books" may be another but that was under-represented here. See Wiki Link for further details.
