Note: Established in June 1993, it is a light novel label aimed at a male audience. In September 2010, it published its two-thousandth novel. The editors have a reputation for welcoming new authors, and hold a yearly contest, the 電撃小説大賞 (Dengeki Shōsetsu Taishō) or Dengeki Novel Prize, to discover new talent. The メディアワークス (MediaWorks) magazine 電撃hp (Dengeki hp) was discontinued in October 2007, and was succeeded by 電撃文庫MAGAZINE (Dengeki Bunko Magazine) in December 2007.
