Volumes 1-7 feature seven speculative fiction novels, numbered in sequence of their first editions as books, 1895 to 1902. Volumes 8 and 9 feature two of his published stories that Wells adapted for the screen, their screenplays or prose treatments, and the feature films that were produced in 1937 and 1936.
