  • Series: Planet Stories Series Record # 23725
  • Webpages: Wikipedia-EN
  • Note: Planet Stories was originally subtitled: "Strange Adventures on Other Worlds - The Universe of Future Centuries". It had a reputation for being, well - pulpish. The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction describes its covers as "garish in the extreme" and its interior art as "crude and lurid". Tuck's Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and Fantasy is a bit kinder: "This magazine always published "space-opera" and some of it was quite notable. It had very colourful covers by lesser-known artists, although its last issues had some by K. Freas. The more noted authors included P. Anderson, R. Bradbury (with many of the sf stories that made him famous), and L. Brackett (with many of her colourful adventures set on other planets). Bixby began the companion magazine Two Complete Science Adventure Books, while O'Sullivan began the reprint magazine Tops in Science Fiction, selecting material from Planet's early issues."
Format:
pulp?Magazine using the common pulp size: 6.5" by 9.5". For ISFDB purposes this may also be used as a designation for the quality of the paper. There are some untrimmed pulps that are as large as 8" by 11.75

Legend: Unverified issues are gold, secondary verifications are light blue.
