Synopsis: Badalia, a native of London's East End, has been deserted by her abusive husband, but finds occupation administering a small charitable fund. She proves to be discerning, capable, determined and honest in the work; but these qualities do her no good when her husband returns, demands the money she has in her charge, and beats her to death when she won't hand it over.
