Synopsis: Mrs. Turpin considers herself very virtuous and superior (in habits, morals, and godliness) to people of other races, other classes, and other ways of living. But an encounter at a doctor's office, with a young woman who is not at all impressed by her, shakes her belief that she is among the people closest to God.
