The 59 pages of text are headed by this poem, which written in the same hand as the rest of the manuscript. This poem has not appeared with "The Beast with Five Fingers", but was used by Michael Cox at the end of his introduction to Casting of the Runes and Other Ghost Stories by M. R. James, Oxford World's Classics, 1987.
