Synopsis: "The spirit (dybbuk) of a musician inhabits the body of a 17-year-old girl. When she opens her mouth, his voice comes out. The spirit bewitches the community, exposing their dirty secrets and captivating them with ribald tales. This continues for several nights until the usually sedate and religious village becomes a carnival of dancing and anarchy. The girl's parents are traumatized and call on several rabbis to exorcise the dybbuk. Instead another spirit, this time a dead prostitute, enters the girl's body and fights with the fiddler for sole occupancy." (The Isaac Bashevis Singer website)
