Synopsis: Because of numerous complaints about noise pollution, sound-absorbers have been devised and implanted everywhere. Every sound is therefore muffled, and trying to make a noise can be punished by death. If street violence has virtually disappeared, on the other hand the population is gradually sinking into apathy. But a particular type of vegetation with insulating properties has been discovered, that enables some irreductible noise-makers to indulge in sonic activities, and enjoy the forbidden pleasures of listening to noise recordings…
