Note:
In The Encyclopedia of Fantasy, by John Clute & John Grant, it is stated that the full title page of this story's original bluebook publication read "The Bride of the Isles: A Tale Founded on the Popular Legend of the Vampire by Lord Byron". Therefore, some people, such as Milly Williamson in The Lure of the Vampire, attribute this story to Byron. Be that as it may, it is certainly an adaptation of James Robinson Planché's play The Vampire; or, The Bride of the Isles, which in turn was inspired by Polidori's The Vampyre.
That is not found 2019-03-09 in Encyclopedia of Fantasy biographical entries for Planché and Byron, nor in the entry "Vampires".
