Synopsis: Zilbrant's grandmother served one of the inhuman varr and returned home to her village to tell some, but not all, of her story. She has high hopes when her grandaughter is chosen to do the same, but can never imagine how the girl will be torn between loyalties. In the end, Zilbrant must make her own, quite different, way.
