Synopsis: A man from 3059 travels 7 million years into the future, where he finds a perfectly operating mechanized Earth occupied by a small number of humans who, though highly intelligent, have lost the basic drives of curiosity and innovation; in attempting to return, he overshoots and arrives temporarily in the present, where he tells the tale.
