Synopsis: A satirical story. The narrator, during his travels, finds himself in front of a fortress where an army cheers him and calls him the "enemy general"; he is taken to the general who gleefully urges him to sign a declaration of war so that a glorious bloody battle can begin, even though nobody in his army can recall what is the reason or motive for the war.
