Synopsis: A historical novel of the Salem witchcraft trials. In Brittany, the French burned more than 200 witches and warlocks in one day. Mr. Jared Bilby, captain of an English brig, was there and saw a tiny girl trying to get past the guards to reach her burning mother. He adopts the girl, who becomes known as Doll Bilby. But when they reach America, Doll reveals herself to be a true witch.
