Author: Arthur Hughes
Date: 1904-00-00
Type: INTERIORART
Language: English
Note: Title page and 13 interior illustrations It may be expected that Hughes provided the title page and one new interior illustration for the 1904 collection, and the other 12 were published in 1867 (see). The 1904 Fifield edition contains "title page and 13 illustrations by Arthur Hughes". --OCLC 233650306 The 1920 Allen & Unwin edition, reprinted 1924, contains "title page and 13 illustrations by Arthur Hughes". --BL 002309874, OCLC 561806654 The 2006 Dover edition contains "61 illustrations" and is an unabridged republication of the 1920 Allen & Unwin edition. --stated on the back cover The 1867 collection Dealings with the Fairies contains 5 of the 8 stories in The Fairy Tales of George Macdonald, 12 full-page illustrations by Hughes, and no other illustrations. --viewed at Internet Archive Report of "61 illustrations" is a surprise.
