Note: Many themes, motifs and methods present in Kehlmann's novel "Die Vermessung der Welt" are discussed, mostly under general aspects and connotations. Based on an interview that was first published 2006 in the magazine for art and literature Sinn und Form (Sebastian Kleinschmidt, ed.). This interview was continued for the book publication in Berlin (February of 2008). Kehlmann's dog was with the interviewers on both occasions but passed away shortly afterward in March of 2008: thus the title ('Requiem for a Dog') was chosen.
