Part I of the "Pentateuch", or sequence of five plays (always published together and sometimes considered one) that follows the long Preface in the collection Back to Methusaleh.
In the Beginning: B.C. 4004 (In the Garden of Eden)
The 1921 Brentano's (US, May) and Constable (UK, June) first editions/printings identically use the long variant title only in the "Contents" list of the five plays, at the end of the Preface. They show the short title alone at the head of this play, whose preceding title page displays three lines:

The US edition also uses the short title of the play as its running header, rather than "Back to Methuselah" as for the Preface.
