Title: The Black Poodle and Other Tales Title Record # 2511138
Author: F. Anstey
Date: 1884-00-00
Type: INTERIORART
Language: English
Note: Initial Capitals, at least. Not including the 1884 frontispiece. Newspaper and magazine advertisements of the collection by its original, 1884 UK publisher Longmans state: "With Frontispiece by G. Du Maurier and Initial Letters by the Author." At least the first initial letter by Anstey is unusually large and elaborate; signed "F.A." (page 1). That is a line drawing of the black poodle, star of the title story, who is also featured in the frontispiece by George du Maurier. It's likely that Anstey self-illustrated other written works in the database.
